With logic 3's quality arcade stick you can stop worrying that the gamecube controller is going to make playing soul calibur ii a bit of chore. As sublime a joypad as the gamecube controller might be, its one weak spot is that it's pretty useless when it comes to beat-'em-ups--as anyone that's tried to play capcom vs. Snk 2 eo with the classic control system will attest. logic 3's arcade stick is a perfect solution to the problem, since it's both cheap and well constructed. It has a good solid feel, a hefty metal joystick and even a built-in rumble pack. There's also a turbo button for setting up an auto-fire mode for shoot-'em-ups. This makes the arcade stick perfect for other arcade games such as ikaruga. to round things off, the arcade stick has a three-way switch that lets you choose the c-stick, the d-pad or the joystick that simulates the gamecube controller's main analogue stick. Buttons cannot be programmed through the hardware, but since that sort of carry-on is tantamount to cheating it's no great loss. --david jenkins |
