the sega dreamcast controller is a must have for the dreamcast player--you can't really do much without one--the controller is loosely based on a cross between an n64 and playstation controller, offering you more triggers and buttons than ever before. although you get a single controller with the dreamcast console, extra controllers will be needed to play most games that require two or more players, and because the dreamcast has the ability to take four controllers, games like virtua tennis and quake 3can become even better with more players. the sega dreamcast controller, also has two slots for a host of expansion packs, and whether it be for the visual memory unit (vmu)--highly recommended--or the other devices sega offer is up to you. this all sounds good, unless you are planning to use dreamarena, for the time taken to scroll the letters and numbers using the controller can be a bit frustrating. Luckily for sega, they have the keyboard and mouse. Making the controller great for games, but lousy for typing. --stuart miles |
